
Kristina received her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from
Kristina has an extensive training and experience background in child development, parenting, postpartum issues and disorders, and disabilities/special education issues. She continually expands her education and skills and has completed an specialized certificate program in Infant/Family Studies at Harris Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Institute and a post-graduate certificate program at NAU in Positive Behavior Support. She intends to to obtain national certification and AZ State licensure as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) specializing in Autism and providing consultation and services using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
She has
received and provided training in many types of disabilities, disability law,
and has coached many families to better understand,
manage, and cope with a disability or medical condition. Kristina knows firsthand the challenges of living with disabilities. She is the mother of five children, two with Autism and one with PANDAS causing severe ADHD, Tourette's Syndrome, and Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder. Kristina also has
specialized training in helping new parents cope with and heal from
Postpartum Mood Disorders whether provided to individuals, families, or within
groups. She is knowledgeable about several parenting programs and has helped many
families learn what best works for them in matters related to
parenting.
With more than 20 years of training and experience in early learning and child development, she understands the stages of child development and can interpret age-appropriate development. She has provided developmental screenings for young children, written age-appropriate curriculums for childcare centers and preschools, worked with early intervention specialists, and provided consultation to child care centers in behavior and social/emotional development.
Kristina was invited to participate on the Infant Mental Health Sub-Committee of the Arizona School Readiness Board, the Arizona Early Childhood Task Force, and as a member of the Medical Advisory Board for the Arizona Food Allergy Alliance. She is an active member of the Postpartum Support International AZ Chapter.
